I am SAP BO consultant.Currently in the market SAP BI-BO has good demand, but in future( May be after 2 years) SAP HANA has a good demand.
In SAP HANA SAP R/3 data directly replicate to HANA using Sybase replicate server and SAP BI sources & Non SAP Data sources should be transformed to SAP HANA using BODS.
In BW 7.3 the DS 4.0 was tightly integrated.
Please guide me which module should i learn, SAP BW 7.3 with BO 4.0 or SAP HANA with BO DS 4.0 & BO 4.0.

I am not able do a Basic Curd operation (Post,Put,Delete) operation using Odata service with Plugin Postman in the Chrome browser please find the below issue details with Attachment..
1.For Post operation we got an issue like Request must be a batch ,please clarify this here i am not able to proceed.
2.If we doing PUT not getting any error message but data fails to update.
3.Delete also same issue.

I have been trying to learn hana these past few days and have been getting some problems. So As i see SAP HANA is used for de-normalization of data(as per some tutorials that i have seen). So i make the analytic views and I have my data denormalized after making the analytical views. What next?. How do I harness/use these views to create reports for business analysis. I need to generate several reports based on this de-normalized data(which i intend to ultimately use for a website based product). Do i need to create different Anaytical views for different reports?

I have been working in BI/DW technoloy for the last 9 years mainly on the Microsoft BI stack (SSIS, SSAS, SSRS). I also have a fair amount of experience in Business Objects 6.5 and XI. I would like to shift my skillset to SAP especially into SAP HANA platform. I would like to know that by self paced training is it possible to take up SAP HANA certification and which certification would suit me based on my previous experience.

We have upgraded our HANA Rev55 to Rev64 using HLM, and expected that the HANA Studio repository inside the instance would be updated/created, so that we could define the location in our HANA Studio programs on our PCs and update from the instance repository. However, HANA Studio complains that there is no repository. We have tried to create the repository using the hdbeuspack utility, but this aborts immediately after the "Initialising repository type catalog" message.
Has anyone else had this problem and found a resolution for it?

I am trying to add a new column in the time dimension table. My customer wants a column that gives them year and quarter but they want quarter listed as Q1. The CAL_QUARTER gives me 20131. what they want is 2013 Q1. I can do the conversion of data from YEAR_INT and QUARTER_INT with the following sql statement:
Select concat(YEAR_INT, Concat(' Q', + QUARTER_INT) ) from "_SYS_BI"."M_TIME_DIMENSION"
But in HANA I have not been able to insert the new data into the new column (REP_QUARTER)
I have tried insert into and update statements. Can you help me out with the correct sql statement.

I'm looking at the SQL behind some of our larger tables replicated from SAP and see some have extra concatenated attributes similar to this;

Does anybody have any further documentation about this, why it exists exactly and what the benefits are? At first I thought it was simply a concatenation of KEY fields (and most indeed are) but some of the fields being concatenated are not KEYS. Some of these concatenated attributes seem like common ways I might want to join to other tables so I wonder why they wouldn't just all be KEY fields to begin with as well. So I'm wondering the logic behind this and if SAP has pre-chosen all of these combinations. The other reason I'm asking is I was told by SAP in the past, when looking into huge memory consumption issues for BSEG for example - ie: noticed in some cases record count growth did not directly tie to memory consumption growth) that some additional memory is required for concatenated attributes. So I just want to understand this better and can not find any documentation anywhere on this. I noticed some very old SQL Script guides (HANA SPS 01!) had very vague examples of CONCAT_ATTRIBUTE but it was removed in later documentation.

Have any experts could tell me how to handle select-options condition in HANA script? I'm working on HANA Pushdown project, and need to convert the ABAP statement to HANA script. In a ABAP statement we can use select-options/ranges in the opensql. But in HANA we can't use like this.
So far, I want to convert the select-options/ranges to a table, than JOIN this table in HANA script. In ABAP there is a function module to convert select-options/ranges to string, but I don't know how to convert string to table again in HANA.
or is there have any other solution for this kind of questions.

Currently we are using merge statement for update else insert. but can we use MD5 hash for generating Primary KEY(With the help of multiple column values). Does HANA support MD5?
Actually I need to match a single solumn isntead of multiple for update else insert. Also dont want to create Composite Primary Key.

I'm trying to define a user named LUMIRA that can be used as a least privileged user for accessing Analytic Views that I've created for use with Lumira.
So far, I did the following to define access to the various schemas
CREATE USER LUMIRA PASSWORD Hana1234;
GRANT SELECT ON SCHEMA "WIKIDATA" TO LUMIRA;
GRANT SELECT ON SCHEMA "_SYS_BI" TO LUMIRA;
GRANT SELECT ON SCHEMA "_SYS_BIC" TO LUMIRA;
GRANT EXECUTE ON "SYS"."REPOSITORY_REST" TO LUMIRA;
The problem is I can't figure out the syntax for granting the _SYS_BI_CP_ALL Analytic Privilege. I was able to do this in the UI as shown below.
This is what the privilege looks like in GRANTED_PRIVILEGES.
I'm using SPS5.

I am using SAP HANA as a side car scenario. I have connected the ECC system using SLT and also installed SWT2DB addon. I have created the XML's and loaded/ Actiavted them in SAP ECC system using SE38 and table RDA_MAINTAIN. However when i try to execute the repot i get and error DBIF_RSQL_TABLE_UNKNOWN. I am not sure why i am getting that error. I have two business cases in the first business case the scenario name in the xml is less than 20 characters and the report is working fine. However in the second business case the Scenario name is more than 20 characters. Can you please help me with the following questions.
1. Should the scenario name be same as that of Program name in the XML.
2. Should the scenario description be same as Program name.
3. Incase yes the scenario name has only 20 char width. And my program name is much bigger than that. How do we handle the such scenarios where the program name is more than 20 characters....
