Input Parameter mapping does not work in Calculation View

Hi,

 

We have created SQL script based Calcuelation View CV_SELECT , we have dfined 2 Input Parameters say Z_PRODUCT & Z_COUNTRY.

 

We have simple sql

select Country, Region, Function, Product from Table_1 where country = :Z_COUNTRY and Product = :Z_PRODUCT;

 

We have created second calculation view CV_PROJECTION

Its simple projection where we are projecting all the fields from CV_SELECT.

In order to pass values for Product and Country we have defined input parameters in this second view, Z_PRODUCT & Z_COUNTRY (definition is exactly same as for parameters in first CV)

 

We have mapped these Input Parameters to the source (CV_SELECT.Z_PRODUCT To CV_PROJECTION.Z_PRODUCT  and CV_SELECT.Z_COUNTRY to CV_PROJECTION.Z_COUNTRY.

 

When we pass parameter values to CV_SELECTION we get few records and output, but when we pass same values as input to CV_PROJECTION is does not output anything.

 

Am I missing any setting?  How to fix this issue?

How To Kill Process/Thread in HANA

Hi Guys,

 

I have a statement running which is halting the system.

 

Host: hana

Port: 30003

Service: indexserver

Hierarchy: 0

Thread ID: 25529

Thread Type: SqlExecutor

Thread Method: ExecuteStatement

Thread Detail: ALTER TABLE  "DM"."B_DIMM3" DISABLE DELTA LOG

Duration [MS]: 2129231  <----

Caller:

Calling:

User: SYSTEM

 

This should take seconds.

So, I want to Kill this process/thread.

 

Does anybody know how?

User Management Issues

Hi Team,

 

I am   practicing on User & Role Management. some exercises done for general approach for user & Roles..

 

i don't see following options from Administration through HDB studio.

 

  • How to copy from one user to another user?

         

  • Suppose i create one user with respective Roles, same user roles need to copy to another user. ( mass user creation)

*Similar Mass Role creation

 

I believe this can achieve through procedures, anyone done that procedures?

Which module has a good scope in future either SAP HANA or SAP BW?

Hi,

 

I am SAP BO consultant.Currently in the market SAP BI-BO has good demand, but in future( May be after 2 years) SAP HANA has a good demand.

 

In SAP HANA  SAP R/3 data directly replicate to HANA using Sybase replicate server and  SAP BI sources & Non SAP Data sources  should be transformed to SAP HANA using  BODS.

 

In BW 7.3 the DS 4.0 was tightly integrated.

 

Please guide me which module should i learn,  SAP BW 7.3 with BO 4.0 or SAP HANA with BO DS 4.0 & BO 4.0.

Regarding HANA -Authorizations

Hi

 

In HANA how to find  which privilege is required for a specific purpose.for example if I am trying to create a SCHEMA I get an error which says that I am not authorized or don't have sufficient privileges in that case how do I find what is missing from my profile .

Creating a remote source to Hive

I would like to create a virtual table in HANA SP6 based on Hadoop Hive. First I need to create a remote source. Anybody knows how to fill out the Connection Properties?

 

Driver

Server Name

Server Port

Database

 

Do I need Extra Adapter Properties?

How to retrieve it or reset keystore password?

We have an SAP hana (SP5) system that we forget its keystore password.

 

It is NOT changeit because we have tried it. The previous admin of this system left company.

 

Could you please tell how to retrieve or reset this password?

HDB client version and HDB server version interoperability

Due to a bug in the HDB client I would like to upgrade it (Bug is fixed in a higher version). Now I don't want to update the HDB server as it is a development system and shipping HANA Delivery Units from there would then mean that all the consuming systems would also need an upgrade.

 

Now, in the "SAP HANA Master Update Guide" I found the statement:

 

3.2.1 Updating the SAP HANA Client

Update all SAP HANA clients that are not located on an SAP HANA system. Use the same revision as the SAP HANA database.

 

This sounds like there is no official support for a mixed installation (i.e. an installation where client and server have a different version).

Is this true ?

 

Furthermore, the statement above makes one believe that on a SAP HANA system the client cannot be installed separately from the server.

How to view the HANA edition

  Hello,

 

We are trying to upgrade our HANA from SP5 to SP6 and the upgrade guide mentions to use the On site config tool to change the HANA edition from Enterprise to Platform, how can we view our current HANA edition, and how do i invoke the On site config tool.

 

 

 

Since SPS 06 SAP HANA systems can be only Platform edition. You have the following cases:●

Updating from SAP HANA SPS 05 Enterprise edition to SAP HANA SPS 06. In this case you need to use the SAP HANA On-Site Configuration tool to change the SAP HANA edition to Platform.

not able to access the data preview in the hana system

Hi,

I am not able to access the data preview in the hana system even successfully created a Schema,table and privilege but after  activating the schema system populating a error message as you don't have privilege.

HANA on IBM Power i and DB2

Hi,

 

Is IBM Power server (795)  with i operating system (formerly known as i5/OS) a supported platform for SAP HANA ?

 

I checked the HANA PAM (https://websmp106.sap-ag.de/~sapidb/011000358700000701932011E) and i don't see IBM power systems and i5/OS not mentioned anywhere. All I see is SLES 11 (SP1, SP2) as the supported OS for all hardware vendors. Does that mean SAP HANA is supported only for SLES  operating system ?

My name is Heber, I'm an ABAP consultant from Brazil and I have some questions about HANA plataform possibilities.

I'm reading a lot of documentation about SAP HANA Cloud Plataform but yet have some doubts.

 

- What exactly I need to develop and sell HANA applications?

- What are the sales methods?

- Who can buy these applications?

- If I develop a cloud application, the buyer need to have a HANA system of his own to use it or his data will always be stored in my cloud HANA database?

How to determine of Week of the month in HANA SQL?

Hi,

 

Please can you tell me how can i determine the week for a particular month,starting from Sunday.

 

I have written script in HANA as :

 

SELECT WEEK(TO_DATE ('2013-03-01', 'YYYY-MM-DD'))

- WEEK(ADD_DAYS(TO_DATE ('2013-03-01', 'YYYY-MM-DD'),-(DAYOFMONTH(TO_DATE ('2013-03-01', 'YYYY-MM-DD'))-1)))+1 FROM DUMMY;

 

But it doesn't seem accurate, it fails for date 2013-03-31, as the week number should be 6.

 

 

in SQL similar functionality is achieved by (for week starting from Monday):

 

SELECT WEEK(my_date_field,5) - WEEK(DATE_SUB(my_date_field, INTERVAL DAYOFMONTH(my_date_field)-1 DAY),5)+1

Hello gurus,

 

I've been reading a lot about HANA and I got so excited with this.

I'm with some doubts about this technology and I expect that you can help-me!

I've been thinking about an app that needs read R/3 data, like purchases (EKKO table as.)

But that company doesn't have HANA and I want to develop the view with SAP UI5 and make persistence with OData.

 

Could my Hana Cloud server read the company R/3 data? Like my Hana database be the mirror of the r/3 ekko table?

How should be my architecture if I want to offer my app with HANA to the company?

If I need to make processes in R/3 like change a custom field of the ekko table, how can I do this?

How to copy SQL objects (tables, views & procedures) from one schema to another schema in the HANA same server?

Hello,

 

I need to dynamically provision Schema/Catalog, load data, analyze data, generate reports and drop the catalogs/schema from the server. 

 

I got a schema called "MasterCatalog" having 10 tables (most of them are empty), 3 views and 10 stored procedures. 

Now I want to copy the tables and procedures from MasterCatalog to newly created (empty) schema problematically.

First I create an empty schema using "CREATE SCHEMA" statement. Then copy the objects from master catalog to newly created schema.

 

For that, I tried Export & Import SQL commands. Using export command, i tried to export SQL objects onto a local server folder then tried to import the objects into newly created schema.

But it is trying to import SQL objects into the same source schema. There is no provision to specify the target schema on Import statement.

 

Any idea how to copy objects from one schema to another schema on the same server?

SAP BW7.3 With HANA

Dear Experts,

 

I need some suggestion in SAP BW7.3 with HANA

1. After migration of SAP BW7.3 from (Oracle , DB2...) to HANA database  , the cubes structure will it change, because HANA data base  table design is both Column  and Row based design , but Standard cubes tables have only Row level store

2.Could please guide the How we have to migrate the BW Standard cubes to HANA Cubes.
