My client does a lot of data analysis using analytics tool (which I believe is quite common across the industry). It is mainly used for Audit purpose. The tool gives them the ability bring in files from different sources and convert the data (from PDF, tab delimited, excel, csv, image and a few more formats) to table format and manipulate the data to get the desired resutls. The tool has the ability to read the details from the file it is being loaded with and convert the data to rows and columns. The files are not loaded to any database of the tool. They are stored as files (excel format) on the local machine.
The tool provides a lot of functionalities. Some of them are simple ones like sorting, summing, concatinating. They also join two or more tables at times to derive the results. The users will also have the ability to write small scripts as well.
Can you please let me know if there is any similar analytics tool available with SAP (either Using HANA or independent of HANA), it will be very useful. Else we may have to build these functionalities in SAP.
